I Did It! I Ran My First RunDisney 5K!

This past weekend I was able to mark one more item off of my Plunge List.  I’m excited to share that I completed my first RunDisney 5K, the Cinderella Royal Family 5K.  This 3.1 miles started in the Epcot parking long, meandered along a back street of Epcot before making entering into the park itself.  Once inside the park we ran through World Showcase, around Spaceship Earth and then exited the park to complete the Royal Family 5K back in the Epcot parking lot.  When I signed up for this 5K event, I honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but I knew that this was something that I wanted to do.  Let me just say, the event was AMAZING!  It was one of those things that is hard to describe in words, but I can say that I honestly never knew that waking up at 3:30am and then walking and running with 10,000 other people could be this much fun!

I also took this opportunity to not only make a positive difference in myself and my own health, but I also wanted to use this event to help bring awareness and help make a difference for others.  Because of your support and generosity, I was able to raise $675 for Give Kids the World.  Thank you so much for believing in me, but more importantly thank you so much for believing in the work that Give Kids the World does.  If you wanted to donate and did not get a chance, there’s still time.  My GKTW Donation Page will be up until April 21, 2014.

I had such a great time participating in the Cinderella Royal Family 5K, that I have committed myself to the upcoming 2014 Everest Challenge (A 5K Obstacle Course with Scavenger Hunt), the Disney Happy Haunted Trail 5K and Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K.  Everest Challenge is currently filled to capacity, but I would love for you to join me in the Happy Haunted Trail 5K and Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K.  If you’d like to run/walk with me, you can register here.
