Historic Clermont will kick off the Light Up Clermont this Thursday, December 4 and the holiday festivities will continue through Saturday, December 6th.
All of the Light Up Clermont ceremonies are free and open to the public. It begins on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Waterfront Park Pavilion. The Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra will perform music from “The Nutcracker Suite,” and the 60-piece orchestra will be accompanied by the First Methodist Symphony Chorus.
Then on Friday, downtown Clermont comes alive at 6:15 p.m. when the food trucks open for business, and then at 6:30 p.m., Past Tense performs holiday music. The Lighting Ceremony is at 7 p.m., and all of downtown Clermont, including the community Christmas tree and the animated light sculptures around Center Lake, will light up.
Then starting at 7:30 p.m., there will be free photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at the Clermont City Center.
The fun continues on Saturday, Dec. 6 in downtown Clermont. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a craft show and food vendors. From 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., it’s time for the musical entertainment on stage, followed by a holiday parade at 1 p.m.
That evening at 7 p.m. at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center, there will be the service of Lessons and Carols featuring Gulley, an orchestra, multiple choirs and guest readers.
