Recyle and Reuse Those Extra Leis From Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Are you like us and have MANY Leis from Disney’s Polynesian Resort hanging in your closet or tucked away in a drawer?  What should you do with them?

Well let me show you on idea to recycle and reuse those Disney Polynesian Resort leis.  The 100th day of school will be here before you know it.  When Jayla was in Kindergarten, she was required to wear 100 items on the 100th day of school.  Not sure what to make, Kristi and I were stumped.  Should we do something with safety pins or balloons?  What can a Kindergarten student wear 100 of that will not become a total distraction?  It was at that point Jayla pulled one of her Disney Polynesian Resort leis from her costume bin.  I immediately saw the light bulb go off in Kristi’s brain.

Kristi gathered 3-4 of the leis to easily disassemble.  She counted out 100 petals.  Kristi then retrieved one of Jayla’s shirts was in our donate bin that had a visible stain on it.  In less than 30 minutes, Kristi carefully sewed the 100 flower pedals from the leis onto the shirt (covering the stain).  You could also carefully hot glue the pedals onto the shirt if you are not a sewer.

Here is the finished product that Jayla is celebrating her 100th day of school in.
