It has been confirmed, Disney will begin the removal process of the Sorcerer’s Hat from its Disney Hollywood Studios theme park starting Wednesday, January 7th, 2015. While demolition takes place, construction walls will surround it’s perimeter.
As many of you know, the Sorercer’s Hat has been an icon at Disney Hollywood Studios since 2001. Disney has not provided a timeline on when the demolition is scheduled to be complete. At this time, Disney has reported that it has no plans to rebuild it anywhere else on Disney property. .
The Sorcerer’s Hat is just one of the latest attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to close. Recent Hollywood Studios attractions to be closed include American Idol Experience, Studio Backlot Tour and The Legend of Jack Sparrow. .
One exciting change we do know is The Great Movie Ride is scheduled to undergo a refurbishment this year with the help of the cable channel Turner Classic Movies.
