Chef John’s Place – A Hidden Gem in Kissimme

I love using Yelp to find local eateries that I’ve never been to.  On this day, after visiting the Osceola Tax Collectors office to renew my car tags, I did a quick search on Yelp to see what was close by for lunch.  Chef Johns Place was less than a mile away and after reading the reviews on Yelp, I knew I had to eat there.

I walked in and was immediately greeted by the hostess/waitress with a very genuine hello.  I was seated at a table and began looking through the menu.  Decisions Decisions Decisions!  Everything on the menu sounded fantastic.

On this visit, I decided to order one of my favorites, a fried grouper sandwich.  This sandwich was also offered blackened or grilled.  Chef John’s has it’s seafood delivered fresh daily  and I have to say, it was apparent with this sandwich.  At $11.95, this sandwich HUGE.  The fish was nice and flaky.  It also nice crunch when you bite into it, unlike some locations where there is too much grease and the fish becomes mush.  Along with the sandwich, I had a side of their homemade coleslaw.  It was honestly the closet to eastern North Carolina coleslaw I’ve had, and this Carolina boy was happy.  The meal also came with some delicious steak fries.

Although I’m not close to his location, I can promise you Chef John’s has made a repeat customer out of me and I cannot wait to go back.

Be sure and visit Chef John’s Place website for more menu items, hours of operations, etc.  Also, you can visit Chef John’s Place at… 3753 Pleasant Hill Rd Kissimmee, FL 34746
